Arturo Navarrete

Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, Chef Arturo Navarrete spent some of his childhood in Acapulco before moving to Mexico City with his family. During his teenage years, Chef Arturo lived in Vancouver, Canada, where his passion for food began to emerge. After graduating from Vancouver Secondary School in West Vancouver, he returned to Mexico City to pursue culinary studies at Le Cordon Bleu Mexico. Upon completing his pastry studies, Chef Arturo was offered a job by the renowned pastry chef Laurent Trouble at his patisserie. Within a year, he became Chef Trouble's right-hand as his lead chocolatier. Subsequently, Chef Arturo left to complete his studies and achieve Le Grand Diplome. In the summer of 2014, Chef Arturo was given the opportunity to join the new team at Apex, a French restaurant located in Montage Deer Valley, a resort in the Utah mountains. He worked under Chef Christian Ojeda, who was previously a Sous Chef at Joel Robuchon's restaurant. Later on, Chef Arturo ventured into learning Japanese cuisine at a highly acclaimed Japanese restaurant in Salt Lake City. It was there that he had the chance to meet his mentor, Chef and Restaurateur Viet Pham. Impressed by Chef Arturo's skills, Chef Pham took him under his wing and eventually appointed him as the Manager and Chef at Pretty Bird, an incredibly successful fried chicken restaurant. A significant part of Chef Arturo's culinary knowledge and approach to cooking has been derived from his travels across the United States and Mexico, where he has worked as a stage at several Michelin-starred restaurants. These include the 2-Michelin-starred Harbor House Inn and Commie in California, as well as the 1-Michelin-starred Porto in Chicago, among others. Now, Chef Arturo has opened his home in Austin, Texas, welcoming you to be a part of a new and unparalleled culinary experience.
